I had my mammogram on 10/4/2016. It was fast, easy and painless. Another preventive health test done for the year and I received a calendar for 2017 to boot!
Last year in December 2015, I decided to get a mammogram after not having one in 11 years. I was called back for a second set of pictures because my old file had been destroyed and they had nothing to compare. One week later I was told I had a “cluster” and ALL clusters must be biopsied. So on January 18th, I went in for a biopsy. I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma – STAGE ZERO! Which basically means the cancer had not spread beyond its origin. I had lumpectomy surgery on February 3rd and 10 DAYS of radiation follow-up. On March 3rd I was cancer free and very healthy!!!
Today’s mammograms pick up the slightest hint of any abnormalities, this story could have EASILY gone a different direction. But…God is GOOD!

Always get one even tho no family history, I get it every year! Too many friends diagnosed and too many gone too young.
Last January I joined the “lucky 1 in 8” women. My DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) was diagnosed with a 3D mammogram. If I had had any other kind of mammogram, and this was my first 3D, it would have been several years before I was diagnosed. I had a lumpectomy surgery followed with several weeks of radiation. There is no chemo for what I have.
So, ladies, go get SQUASHED! It will save your life.

I am a breast cancer survivor and I get my mammogram every year. They found my cancer through a routine mammogram. Breast cancer is highly curable if it is caught in time. GET YOUR MAMMOGRAM TODAY!

I see my Primary Care Physician on November 21,for my annual visit; and he will schedule the annual mammogram at that time.

my annual is scheduled for February. I’ve been getting them for a few years because my mom was diagnosed young. i had a pre-DCIS removed a few years ago. since I turned 40 a few months ago i’m looking forward to not having to fight with my insurance company to approve the test for a woman under 40.

Had my routine yearly mammogram in August 2015. Was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer. Had a bi-lateral mastectomy on October 1st. I dodged the bullet through early detection and did not require chemo or radiation. No history of breast cancer in my family, so early detection via mammograms is so very, very important.
I usuLLY fight with my Dr not to have one, bu this year I go mine 9/30 with her even asking me too. Mobile mammogram unit came to the college I work for and I got one of the last three spots open. I am proud of myself…

Am super on top of this — have had ovarian cancer, and as a result am at greater risk for breast cancer …..it’s super important for everyone to have mammograms!

I got my last mammogram in August 2016 – I get it faithfully every year!
Had mine in February. My Mother had breast cancer and with early detection along with lumpectomy and radiation she lived to 91 years. I’ve had my mammogram yearly since turning 50. Also, I’ve been told my breasts are dense and been called back to clinic for ultrasounds.
Please, be pro-active and get yours!

I had my annual mammogram yesterday! I never miss getting my mammogram. I had lumpectomies because of fibrocystic breasts when I was 32 and 34 years old. I am now 68 and doing great. I have a very dear young friend that is in her early 40’s going through breast cancer now. I would love to win this scarf to give to her or have the pattern to make her one.

I just had mine a couple of months ago.
I got mine just before October because I promised my friend who found out this year she had it.
Plan to have my mammogram. . When I think of my Aunt Millie. She died of breast cancer 20 yr’s ago. , I remember the crocheted blanket and bootie set she made for my oldest daughter, Lauren. Lauren will turn 38 on October 22! Whenever I knit something I feel like she is on my shoulder weaving a little angelic magic in every stitch.
for the last three years, I’ve been getting *two* a year…because in 2013, a lump I found in April enlarged so much by my July mammogram that it was intensely painful to get it done…the Breast Center is in the Hospital and before I left I was scheduled for surgery…it was a Stage I estrogen based tumor…I had a partial mastectomy, 33 radiation treatments, was taken off hormone replacement and given estrogen suppressors…I have been cancer free for nearly three years and am now back to my yearly mammograms, which occurred last month…get yours, catching it early was the key in my case–so don’t put it off!
I will get mine at my next doctor’s appointment.

I have my mammogram every year in conjunction with my annual physical – right around my birthday! And I believe that I’m giving myself a gift by doing so because early detection is the key ! That little bit of discomfort that some folks talk about is certainly far less that one would endure if a Cancer went undetected! Buck up ladies – we’re all tough enough to handle that little mammogram squish!
I went for my routine mammogram last Novemer 2015 thinking all was good (48 years old). I had no concerns, so when they found a lump, then needle biopsy, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breat Cancer. Now many months later I have had two lumpectomy surgeries, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, 33 rounds of radiation and I am doing GREAT! I am getting my energy back slowly and I knit like crazy :-). Undetected my cancer could have killed me in less than two years. It is aggressive, and fast growing. So, go get your exams and mammograms done and make sure you are here to see all the new designs and yarns Plymouth Yarns will have for years to come 🙂

I get my mammogram every October. I never miss a year. I just learned my baby sister is fighting breast cancer. I know she is going to beat this fight. The power of prayer works! God bless all you survivors.
After being diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in March 2014, found in my annual mammogram, I know the importance of this diagnostic. After treatment for a year I am cancer free and enjoying my life with my family.
