This stitch looks so fun! I can’t wait to start it!

Argh. Already a week behind. That first panel took me forever! I guess I’m a slow crocheter. I’m about to start panel 2.
Not a problem! Take whatever time you need; the pattern and videos will be there when you need them. Also, remember you can always skip a panel and come back to it, or work on two at the same time. That’s the beauty of crochet.
Doing the gauge swatch for panel 3 of the crochet along. Is it really 20 rows to equal 4 inches. My 14 stitches equals 4 inches but I have 8 rows that equal 4 inches
Hi Deborah-I checked, and I go 10 rows per 4″, not 20, so that was a typo. I’m sorry, and I’m glad you pointed it out. I’ll fix that for the next version of the pattern that goes out this week.
Unfortunately, errors slip through, no matter how careful we are to prevent them!
I’m working on panel 4 of the crochet along. The written directions For row 4 say to work sc in the ch-1 space but the stitch diagram for row 8 shows working in the top of the dc2tog. I’m assuming the stitch diagram is incorrect as the previous single crochet rows (2,4,6) are worked in the ch-1 space Just want to clarify before continuing. Thanks. I’m enjoying the process. It is my first crochet along
Oops! Thank you for pointing that out! Row 8 should look like Row 4; I will make that correction now on the blog and correct the diagram on the next version of the printed pattern. So sorry!
What is a gauge swatch
A gauge swatch is a smaller piece of crochet that you make using the same yarn, hook and stitch pattern that you’ll make for the main project. It tells you what the gauge of your fabric is, and whether or not you need to change hook sizes to get the desired size and drape. Watch the video about How to Measure Gauge in Single Crochet for more information; it’s in one of the earlier posts for the crochet along.
