Materials Needed

4-100g skeins of Plymouth Yarn Electra-Lite, sample and tutorials used color #0002 Silver, (this pattern uses a few yards more than 3 skeins, 4 skeins are recommended)

1 set US size 7/4mm 32″ circular needle (pattern is worked flat, circular needle is required to accommodate the large number of stitches).

6 stitch markers.

Tapestry needle, scissors, dpns are optional but nice to have handy.

Gauge

17 sts / 24 1/2 rows = 4 inches after blocking, gauge is not critical but can affect yardage.

TUTORIAL

This clue includes a central double decrease (cdd) also known as a skip 2 knitwise, knit 2 together, passover (sl2tog-k1-psso, or s2kpo). This decrease removes 2 stitches from the pattern with the dominant remaining stitch being the center stitch which is visually vertical (does not lean left or right).

Cdd: central double decrease

In an effort to keep the clues in this knitalong totally secret the tutorials are shown over stockinette stitch.

Work to the 3 sts that will be decreased using the cdd, this pattern has yarnovers on either side of the cdd so make a yarnover.

Insert the right needle tip first into the 2nd stitch from the tip of the left needle, and then into the first stitch on the tip of the left needle (this is as if you are going to work a k2tog, knit 2 together).

Slip both of those stitches off the left needle tip and onto the right needle tip, then insert the right tip into the following stitch on the left tip.

Wrap and pull through, now you can see there is a single knit stitch closest to the tip of the right needle and two slipped stitches as the 2nd and 3rd stitches from the tip of the right needle.

Bring the left needle tip in front of the work and insert into the 2 slipped stitches from left to right.

Using the left tip bring the 2 slipped stitches over the first knit stitch on the right needle.

You have now completed the cdd, as you can see the center stitch absorbs a stitch on either side creating a central double decrease.

Finish up with another yarnover to complete the lace motif from the Drifting Moonbeams Pattern.
